Greenlee McCollum collected two hits, an RBI, a stolen base and scored two runs, while Emma Sensenich had two RBIs, a base hit, walk and stolen base, and Mya Sackrey added two runs, a base hit, RBI and stolen base, as the Lady Bulldogs succumbed to South Harrison, 11-5, in Saturday's semifinals of the Class 2 District 6 softball tournament.
Gracyn Beckman recorded four strikeouts on the mound and had a base hit and sac-fly RBI; Hadlye Sackrey had a hit and a run; and Jerzi Fields knocked in a run.
While South Harrison, on the heels of yesterday's 9-8 win against two-time defending state champion Marceline, moves on to the Class 2 state tournament, the Bulldogs' (11-12) future looks bright for a run in 2024. Despite losing seniors Jenna Keller, Alex Moore and Maddie Wilbeck, the 'Dogs return a solid group of talented underclassmen, including the core of this year's team. Coach Corf and the Lady Bulldogs will be looking forward to next season!
