Fueled by an 18-3 fourth quarter, Westran broke open a tight contest and went on to a 46-35 victory in last night's Lady Bulldogs' varsity basketball opener.

Emma Meyer scored a team-high nine points, and had a rebound and steal, and Greenlee McCollum collected eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead the 'Dogs, who led throughout much of the game and had a four-point lead entering the final period. Maggie Bennett (2 rebounds, steal) added five points; Jerzi Fields (3 rebounds, 2 steals) and Maddie Wilbeck (4 rebounds) each had four points, while Gracyn Beckman (4 rebounds) and Madi Lumsden (6 rebounds, 2 steals) chipped in three and two points, respectively.

The Lady Bulldogs look to bounce back against Putnam County in tonight's home opener.
