Brookfield dropped a 52-27 decision to Lawson in last night's varsity girls basketball matchup.

Maddie Wilbeck (3 assists, rebound, steal) scored 12 points for the Bulldogs, who trailed only by one at the end of the first quarter before the Cardinals pulled away with an 18-6 run in the following eight minutes.

Greenlee McCollum (rebound, assist, steal) netted eight points, and Jerzi Fields (3 rebounds, 3 assists, block) and Emma Sensenich (2 rebounds) each added three points. Haven Stufflebean (rebound) chipped in a free throw. Gracyn Beckman (6 rebounds, assist), Madi Lumdsen (3 rebounds, steal), Emma Meyer (rebound, assist, steal), Maggie Bennett (2 rebounds) and Breckin Thudium (2 rebounds) also contributed.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-14) travel to Macon tomorrow night.

The Bulldogs fell, 32-16, in the JV game.

Maggie Bennett led the 'Dogs with seven points, and Breckin Thudium scored six points.

Haily Swan had two points, and Emma Meyer added a free throw.

The JV Lady Dogs (3-5) welcome Monroe City on Tuesday.
