Brookfield fell behind early, but then put the clamps on Clark County en route to a 49-33 victory in girls varsity basketball on Friday.
Clark County led 18-14 after the opening quarter; however, the Bulldogs held the Indians to just 15 points in the remaining 24 minutes.
Meanwhile, the 'Dogs shot nearly 60% from the floor with Maddie Wilbeck (3 assists, 3 steals, rebound) nearly having a perfect night - 5-of-5 from the field (4-of-4 from 3-point range) and 7-of-8 at the free throw line - with a game-high 21 points.
Jerzi Fields (8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals) scored 12 points, while Greelee McCollum (2 assists, 2 steals) had six points, and Gracyn Beckman (2 rebounds) added four points for the 'Dogs, who earned their first conference win of the season. Maggie Bennett (rebound) and Haven Stufflebean each chipped in two points.
The Lady Bulldogs (7-12, 1-3 CCC) travel to South Shelby Tuesday night.
