Brookfield got off to a fast start and cruised to a 40-24 win against Knox County in Wednesday's Tri-Rivers Classic girls basketball action.

Maddie Wilbeck (4 rebounds) and Madi Lumsden (7 rebounds, 2 steals) each pumped in 13 points to pace the Bulldogs, who led 13-4 after the opening quarter and 24-10 at the half.

Greenlee McCollum (6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals) and Maggie Bennett (rebound, assist) scored five points apiece, while Gracyn Beckman (2 rebounds, assist) and Emma Sensenich (rebound) each added two points. Emma Meyer added three rebounds, an assist and steal.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-2) play tonight's Scotland County-Schuyler County winner in Saturday's consolation final at Schuyler County. Tip off is at 3:00 pm.
