Brookfield battled back from a seven-point, fourth-quarter deficit and won in overtime, 31-25, in Friday's JV girls basketball game.
The Tigers, who were in control of much of the contest, maintained a slight lead at halftime and were ahead, 17-12 after three quarters. They increased the advantage to 19-12 early in the final quarter, but a 5-0 spurt, fueled by a pair of free throws by Haven Stufflebean (8 points) and a trey by Emma Meyer (3 points), pulled the 'Dogs to within two points. The Tigers got a bucket to go up, 21-17, but the Bulldogs again responded. Maggie Bennett (9 points) pulled down an offensive rebound and went back up, scoring a putback and one to draw the 'Dogs to within one. Emma Sensenich (3 points) calmly drained two free throws moments later to put Brookfield ahead, and Bennett added a free throw to push the lead to 23-21. The Tigers tied the game with a driving layup with 28.3 to go. The Bulldogs had a chance to win the game with just over a tick on the clock in regulation but missed two free-throws, sending the game into overtime, knotted at 23-23.

The Bulldogs got off to a great start in free basketball with a free throw, followed by a putback and one by Breckin Thudium (8 points) to up by four points. The Tigers answered with a basket to pull within two, and Bennett added a free throw to put the 'Dogs ahead, 28-25. The Tigers had their chances in the final seconds, but they missed two free throws and could not capitalize on a Brookfield turnover, catching the front iron on a three that could have tied the game.

The Bulldogs (4-5), who were 14-of-24 from the line, closed out the game with three free throws.
