A strong second half propelled Lawson to a 65-37 victory against Brookfield in Wednesday night's boys varsity basketball tilt.
Hayden DeJong (2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, steal) scored 19 points for the Bulldogs, who played a competitive first half, trailing only 27-21 at the break. However, the Cardinals pulled away in the third quarter, fueled by a 20-10 run.
Hank Parks (5 rebounds, assist) had nine points, while Bryson Shoop (3 steals, 2 assists, rebound) and Kendrell Carter (3 rebounds, assist) added seven and two points, respectively.
John Walgren had team-highs with eight rebounds and three steals, and Phoenix Jordan pulled down three boards.
The Bulldogs (7-14) visit Macon tonight.
The Bulldogs fell to Lawson, 59-29, in the JV game.
Bryson Shoop led the 'Dogs with 9 points (all 3s), while Phoenix Jordan scored six points, and Ross Ehrich added five points.
Ky'Ree Jordan hit a trey, and Wyatt Garber, Coldon Parrent and Riley Hinckle each had two points.
The JV Bulldogs (7-3) host Monroe City on Tuesday.
