After overcoming a slow start, Brookfield ran out of gas in the final quarter, falling to North Shelby, 63-50, in Wednesday night's Tri-River Classic boys action.
Trailing by seven points at halftime, the Bulldogs pulled to within two with a 23-point run, sparked by Bryson Shoop's 11 points. However, the rally fizzled with the Raiders extinguishing the fire with three straight treys to start the final eight minutes.
Schoop ended with a game-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds, five steals and an assist to lead the 'Dogs. Hank Parks collected 14 points, five rebounds, five steals and an assist, and Hayden DeJong added 11 points, three steals, two boards and two assists.
Phoenix Jordan (five steals, two rebounds) scored five points, including his first career varsity basket, while Kendrell Carter (five rebounds) had two points, and John Walgren (four rebounds) had a free throw. Ross Ehrich had two rebounds and an assist.
The Bulldogs will play either Knox County or Clark County in Saturday's 7th-place game at Schuyler County. The game tips off at 1:30 pm.
